Kylie Cosmetics: ‘Send me more nudes’ Velvet liquid lipsticks review

Hi lovelies and welcome back to a new beauty post! Everyone who knows me knows I’m lipstick obsessed! I almost never leave the house without one on, wether if it’s a nude or a mauve (my favs) or pinks & reds – there’s one for every occasion!

I must admit that I wasn’t the biggest fan of liquid lipsticks but rather liked to stick to the good old fashioned lipstick bullets. Although lately I’ve been finding myself using them more and more! I find that some matte liquid lipsticks tend to dry out my lips and show all the cracks & lines in them so I try to avoid these. I prefer the satin-velvet, more moist liquid lipstick formula rather than the matte (although some matte formulas are better than others).

When Kylie released her vacation collection a couple of months ago I decided to get the ‘Send me more nudes’ velvet liquid lipstick set and I was not disappointed! One can never have too many nudes and it’s a hard quest finding the right nudes for you. The colours in the set are simply stunning: 4 great neutrals with different undertones to suit any skin colour. The packaging is beautiful as always with Kylie cosmetics. The lipstick tubes are matte plastic with beige caps & accents to suit the ‘nude’ shades. The lipsticks are packed in a hard box with beige and gold tones. A postcard designed especially for this collection is attached for a nice personalized finishing touch.

Application is easy and convinient, and the lipsticks feel creamy & hydrating on the lips. They’re not transfer proof but I don’t mind that. To me they feel like creamy semi-matte bullet lipsticks only in a more liquid consistency which I did surprisingly learn to like. Once dry they last on for hours, although I find that after food & drink the colour starts fading away particularly in the middle, leaving a bold outline. The lipstick wears nicely without any feathering and can be used without a lip liner and maintain a crisp finish. These lipsticks are great for everyday or for a night out with bold smokey eyes.

I absolutely love these lipsticks for their colour, formula and the price isn’t bad either – $45USD for a set of 4 full size lipsticks.

Unfortunately, this was a limited edition set from Kylie’s ‘Send me on vacation’ collection and it’s currently sold out. However, ‘Birthday Suit’ and ‘Commando’ are currently available as minis on Kylie Cosmetics as a part of a mini lipstick set: ‘The birthday collection mini kit velvet liquid lipsticks’. The matte version of this set is still available on Kylie cosmetics (‘Send me more nudes matte liquid lipstick’ set) however it’s the matte lipstick formula and I haven’t tried them to recommend them. I’m hoping Kylie will bring back this beautiful set because I think so many people will enjoy these especially if you’re a nude lipstick lover like me!

Hope you enjoyed my post lovelies!

Until next time,
