Hi lovelies, I’m back! It’s been a while 🙂 I’ve been away for ages on holiday and family celebrations overseas and it was great fun but it’s time to get back into it!
Let’s talk a well sought after collaboration: Estée Lauder & Victoria Beckham. 2 HUGE names in the beauty & fashion industry colliding worlds second year in a row and creating something truly magnificent. Last year the collab was a huge success and this year they brought back collection number 2. The collection includes eyeshadows, lipsticks, finishing powder, eye pencils, eyeliners and more.
Packaging is everything in this collaboration: sophistication meets luxe in black & gold. Pricing is the real issue here for us makeup junkies as it is not cheap. Not cheap at all. But is it worth it? I’m here to find out!
I recently picked up these 2 beauties while traveling to London after Melbourne stock has run out (it is currently available online at David Jones).
The highlighter is a part of last year’s collection and continues to sell this year. The lipstick however is new for this year.
This is a cool toned dark nude taupe-brown in a matte finish. It is highly pigmented and feels comfortable to wear. It applies beautifully almost like a cream but has a velvet matte finish. The textured black packaging screams luxe with VB initials imprinted in gold. This is a good nude for medium-dark skin tones and if you are light/fair this might be dark for you (unless you like dark brown-taupe lips!).
Modern Mercury Highlighter
This highlighter is magic in a pan. It is so beautiful and although it is rediculously expensive I had to grab it for my collection. The packaging is seriously goals in black textured leather and the colour is simply stunning: a light peachy rose-gold shimmer that would flatter any skin tone and would make you glow from miles away. It feels almost like buttery cream (it is powder though) and it applies and blends beautifully on the skin.
To sum up I think the products I picked up are amazing and worth the money, but I wouldn’t pick the entire collection as some things are just not worth the price. As much as I love Victoria Beckham (and I really do), $70 for one eyeshadow is simply too much for me! What do you think? Would you pick up anything/everything from this collection?
That’s it for today lovelies! Hope you enjoyed my review and found it useful.
Until next time lovelies!
